The magazine that launched the dialogue between different areas of knowledge, accompanying and enthusing hosts of readers at a crucial period in the history of our country, that of reconstruction and economic development, is back: "Civiltà delle Macchine" (Civilisation of Machines) is back.
The new Civiltà delle Macchine is a magazine that continues where its predecessor left off, a magazine whose intention is to forge a link between past and future to help manage ongoing and ever faster change, to promote a new industrial Humanism, to spread knowledge and also to overcome fear and rejection of the new, reflecting on what the digital transformation is entailing, and finally to raise the profile of technology, "what is needed", as the ideal means to contribute to the achievement of an end: a "common" good.
The name of the magazine, today like sixty years ago, consists of two terms that, united, characterise its mission.
"Civilisation" indicates the conquest of a society that has reached an evolved cultural level and lives it in balance and harmony, "Machines" represents the untiring fruit of the labour of the human mind, able to realise more and more evolved and perfect devices that allow us to carry out predetermined operations with saving of effort and time.
Machines or engines - still machines - that have contributed and will continue to contribute to the development of civilisation and to the achievement of even more advanced cultural levels, and hopefully of greater balance and better harmony.
